FAQs:

  • With rolling admission, we review applications as they arrive and provide decisions on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the school year officially begins at the end of August and finishes at the end of June (3 Trimesters).

  • Some ESL support may be available for those who still need a stronger English foundation. In addition, since class sizes are small, students also get a lot of one-on-one attention and tutoring time from the teaching staff.

  • Yes, an entrance test and interview is necessary before the child officially enrolls in the school.

  • All subjects are taught in English and are taught by native English speakers.

  • The closest train stations are:

    • Shin Okubo (JR Yamanote)

    • Takadanobaba

    • Nishi-Waseda (subway)

    • Higashi-Shinjuku

    Kindergarteners need to be brought to school by a parent or guardian. Students above 1st Grade may travel to school by themselves.

  • Primary students have to bring their own lunch from home daily.

    Middle and High school students bring their own lunches, or they can go out to the nearest convenient stores to buy their lunches with parent’s permission.

  • WICS is a member school of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and started working on its accreditation this year (2025). ACSI accreditation is duly recognized by the ministry of education of Japan and different schools, colleges and universities around the world.   

  • Kindergarten - Kinder Clubs: Book Club, Creative Crew Club, Dance Club

    Primary- Piano, Violin, Korean, Basketball, Book, and computer clubs

    Secondary- Performing Arts, Soccer, Volleyball, Chess/Shogi, Penmanship Club, Book Club, Debate, Coding, Baking, Drawing, Worship Team

  • Yes. Students from all backgrounds are welcome.

  • We have students who represent 16 different countries.

  • Currently, the student and teacher ratio is 4 to 1. Teachers can identify the students’ needs well and can help them advance academically and spiritually.
