It is a true joy and blessing to have you visit our school website. At Waseda International Christian School (WICS), we are committed to raising up the next generation of leaders as disciples of Christ, grounded in the Word of God and equipped to shine as salt and light in and for the world.
We believe that each student is created in the image of God (imago Dei) and is uniquely gifted with God-given purposes and potentials. Our mission is to help them discover their true identity in Christ and grow in wisdom, character, and faith through an environment of love, prayer, and holistic education.
In a rapidly changing world, students need more than just knowledge; they need truths that never change. We strive to nurture future global Christian leaders who are grounded in Biblical values, think critically, and live compassionately while glorifying God and serving others.
At WICS, we provide a Christ-centered education, a global learning environment, and a prayerful community, where students can grow intellectually, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually as faithful children of God’s Kingdom.

There's a saying in Chinese. If you want to see the result of your work in one year, plan to plant crops. If you want to see the result of your work in 10 years, plan to plant fruit trees. If you want to see the result of your work in 100 years, plan to invest in (little) people. In other words, we have to be selective and intentional about where we invest our God-given time, efforts, and resources.
Education is more than transmission of knowledge. In the context of our international Christian school, Christian education means nurturing young students into the image of Jesus Christ while encouraging them to develop a grand vision and a personal plan for the Kingdom of God.
Japan is a very advanced and affluent nation. Tokyo in particular is very safe, very clean, and very efficient. Beneath the nice, modern surface, however, young students in Japan are faced with many issues and challenges of the Japanese public school system and Japanese society such as loneliness, high suicide rates, and ijime (group bullying).
In the backdrop of this spiritual wilderness called Japan, WICS was established in February 2016. We desire to educate, mentor, and strengthen the next generation of young Christian leaders - for Japan, for Asia, and for the whole world.
WICS is an international school established on Christian values. We promise to provide a Bible-based education program which teaches our students to hone universal values that transcend generations and geographical areas. These values will nurture future Christian leaders who love God, their neighbors, and themselves.
WICS has an excellent faculty to provide high quality education that leads students to attend globally recognized universities. We have also arranged educational experts who assist students to study abroad after graduation.
Students will not only learn English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, but also take part in multicultural history programs.
Furthermore, WICS is a school that cooperates with its students and parents. The parents will gain trust in their children's education, and students will have the special experience of growing with the school.
